The list of confirmed GTA 6 map locations extends far beyond the neon streets and crowded beaches of Vice City. Rockstar Games has officially introduced six major destinations across the fictional state of Leonida, with each region offering a noticeably different environment.
Players will be able to explore a modern coastal city, a tropical island chain, an ageing regional town, an agricultural and industrial community, a vast wetland ecosystem and a mountainous national park near Leonida’s northern boundary.
The six officially introduced destinations are Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park.
These locations confirm that GTA 6 will not be limited to an urban recreation of Miami. Leonida is designed as a wider state containing cities, smaller communities, islands, industrial areas, waterways, wilderness and extensive wildlife.
Rockstar has not yet released the complete official GTA 6 map. The precise boundaries, road connections and distances between the six destinations therefore remain unknown. Fan reconstructions can help visualize Leonida, but they should not be mistaken for Rockstar’s final map.
This guide covers every officially named GTA 6 destination, the major features shown in each region, their known characters and businesses, and the important differences between confirmed locations and community-created map theories.

What Locations Are Confirmed for GTA 6?
Rockstar has officially named six major destinations within Leonida:
- Vice City
- Leonida Keys
- Port Gellhorn
- Ambrosia
- Grassrivers
- Mount Kalaga National Park
These names represent broad destinations rather than every individual neighbourhood, business, town or landmark in GTA 6.
Vice City alone is likely to contain several districts, beaches, residential communities, commercial areas and nightlife locations. The other regions may similarly include smaller settlements and local landmarks that Rockstar has not yet named publicly.
| Confirmed Location | Environment | Main Known Features |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Large modern coastal city | Beaches, nightlife, towers, businesses and dense streets |
| Leonida Keys | Tropical island chain | Long bridges, boats, seaplanes, diving and coastal communities |
| Port Gellhorn | Regional coastal town | Starlet Motel, railway, Delights cabaret and industrial areas |
| Ambrosia | Agricultural and industrial town | Allied Crystal refinery, fields, trucks and biker presence |
| Grassrivers | Large wetland ecosystem | Airboats, alligators, mangroves and shallow waterways |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Northern mountain wilderness | Forests, rivers, wildlife, fishing, hunting and off-road trails |

1. Vice City
Vice City is GTA 6’s main urban destination and Rockstar’s fictional interpretation of modern Miami.
The city returns in a completely different era from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which used an exaggerated version of the 1980s. GTA 6’s Vice City reflects modern technology, social media, tourism, nightlife and contemporary Florida culture.
Official screenshots and trailers show several different parts of the city, including crowded beaches, luxury hotels, high-rise towers, residential neighbourhoods, graffiti-covered streets, waterways, clubs and major highways.
Vice City appears to contain much greater population density than earlier versions. Beaches are filled with tourists and residents, roads carry heavy traffic and nightlife districts remain active after sunset.
Known Vice City Features
- Large public beaches
- Waterfront hotels and apartment towers
- Busy commercial roads
- Luxury homes and marinas
- Nightclubs and entertainment businesses
- Recording studios and music companies
- Residential neighbourhoods
- Highways, bridges and waterways
Known Vice City Characters
Several confirmed supporting characters are closely connected to Vice City.
Boobie Ike has built a local business empire involving real estate, nightlife and recording facilities. Dre’Quan Priest works with Boobie through Only Raw Records, while Real Dimez members Bae-Luxe and Roxy are trying to rebuild their music career through the label.
These characters suggest that Vice City’s entertainment industry will be integrated into the story rather than existing only as background decoration.

2. Leonida Keys
The Leonida Keys is a tropical chain of islands inspired by the Florida Keys.
Official media shows long bridges connecting islands, boats moving through clear water, a seaplane flying near the coastline and local communities built around roads, marinas and small businesses.
The region is closely connected to Jason Duval’s background. Jason lives at one of Brian Heder’s properties and performs local criminal work in exchange for accommodation.
Brian is an experienced smuggler who operates through a boat yard with his wife, Lori. His business and Jason’s connections make the Keys an important possible location for early story missions.
Known Leonida Keys Features
- Multiple tropical islands
- Long coastal bridges
- Marinas and boat yards
- Boats and personal watercraft
- Seaplanes
- Scuba diving
- Underwater reefs
- Marine wildlife
- Small coastal communities
Known Leonida Keys Characters
- Jason Duval
- Brian Heder
- Cal Hampton
- Lori Heder
Rockstar has not officially confirmed that GTA 6 begins in the Leonida Keys, although Jason’s established life there makes it a strong possible early-game region.
Read our complete Leonida Keys guide.
3. Port Gellhorn
Port Gellhorn is an old city, less successful than the rest of Leonida.
Port Gellhorn has a completely different atmosphere to the very affluent and progressive town of Vice City in the 1950’s (the time period of this game). The official screenshots for Port Gellhorn feature scenes from along a road, with scenes set inside diners, scenes in the parking lots of Motels, a couple of abandoned parking lots, a railway system, abandoned industrial buildings, and Port Gellhorn at night with its very small nightlife scene.
Port Gellhorn looks worn, atmospheric and very unevenly economy in the official Port Gellhorn screenshots. Official screenshots of Port Gellhorn have been released mostly in night time, where the town’s streets are lit up by the signs of the town’s motels, the headlights of cars driving by and the neon lights of local businesses.
Known Port Gellhorn Locations
- Starlet Motel
- Delights cabaret
- Railway station and tracks
- Industrial structures
- Parking areas and local gathering places
- Older roadside commercial strips
Raul Bautista’s Port Gellhorn Connection
Professional bank robber Raul Bautista is associated with the Port Gellhorn section of Rockstar’s official presentation.
Raul searches for skilled people willing to accept serious risks for large rewards. Port Gellhorn may contain members of his crew, planning locations or criminal contacts, although his exact headquarters has not been confirmed.
The Starlet Motel and local entertainment venues would be believable meeting points for Raul’s operations, but Rockstar has not confirmed their mission roles.

4. Ambrosia
Ambrosia is an inland agricultural and industrial destination built around sugar production.
The region contains large cultivated fields, heavy machinery, industrial roads and the massive Allied Crystal sugar refinery.
Ambrosia appears to function like a company town. The refinery provides major employment and may influence much of the surrounding economy.
Outside the industrial complex, the Final Chapter Motorcycle Club appears to have a strong presence around the town.
Known Ambrosia Features
- Allied Crystal sugar refinery
- Large agricultural fields
- Smoke stacks and industrial machinery
- Trucks and service roads
- Small aircraft operating above the fields
- Gas stations and roadside businesses
- Final Chapter Motorcycle Club activity
Final Chapter Motorcycle Club
Official GTA Online screenshots of Final Chapter MC members can be seen traveling throughout the world of Ambrosia as a convoy of motorcycles, presumably traveling together as a group.
They may be controlling the street-level crime outside of the refinery but we have yet to see the leader of the Final Chapter MC and if Jason and Lucia are going to be working with this organization or not.
There is no confirmation from Rockstar Games that Final Chapter MC are connected to the Lost Motorcycle Club from previous GTA games.
Read our complete GTA 6 Ambrosia guide.
5. Grassrivers
Grassrivers is GTA 6’s major wetland destination and is clearly inspired by the Florida Everglades.
The region contains flooded grasslands, shallow waterways, mangroves, airboats and dangerous wildlife.
Grassrivers may be difficult to navigate with normal road vehicles. Airboats appear to provide one of the most practical ways to cross its water and grass-filled channels.
Official imagery also shows off-road vehicles travelling through flooded terrain while a helicopter flies above a large pursuit.
Known Grassrivers Features
- Extensive wetlands
- Mangrove channels
- Flooded grasslands
- Airboats
- Off-road vehicles
- Alligators
- Wetland birds
- Remote waterways and isolated land
Wildlife in Grassrivers
Alligators are the most prominently featured Grassrivers animals. Official media shows several animals surrounding an airboat and moving through shallow water.
Large groups of wetland birds also appear across the region. Rockstar has not published the complete wildlife list or explained how animal behaviour changes throughout the day.
Fishing and hunting are frequently discussed by fans, but Rockstar has not officially associated those complete activity systems with Grassrivers.
Read our complete Grassrivers location guide.
6. Mount Kalaga National Park
Mount Kalaga National Park is located near Leonida’s northern boundary and introduces mountains, forests, rivers and rocky valleys to GTA 6.
This region offers a completely different environment from Vice City’s tropical coastline and Grassrivers’ flat wetlands.
Rockstar officially associates Mount Kalaga with hunting, fishing and off-road trails. Screenshots also show kayaking, dirt-bike riding, railway infrastructure and forest wildlife.
Known Mount Kalaga Features
- Mountain highways
- Rocky valleys and cliffs
- Dense forests
- Rivers and railway bridges
- Kayaking
- Fishing
- Hunting
- Dirt-bike and off-road trails
- Remote residents and backwoods communities
Mount Kalaga Wildlife
Official imagery shows deer, birds, smaller forest animals and a large wild cat living around the park.
Predators may create direct danger during exploration, although Rockstar has not released a complete animal-behaviour guide.
The park is also home to hunters, rural mystics and paranoid residents who prefer remaining beyond normal government attention.

Are These the Only Locations in GTA 6?
The six officially introduced destinations should not be interpreted as a complete list of every place in GTA 6.
Each major region may contain smaller towns, neighbourhoods, businesses, natural landmarks and mission locations.
Rockstar has already shown several named properties and businesses within the wider destinations, including:
- Leonida Penitentiary
- Jack of Hearts
- Only Raw Records
- Brian Heder’s boat yard
- Starlet Motel
- Delights cabaret
- Allied Crystal refinery
These are individual landmarks or businesses rather than regions equal in scale to Vice City or Grassrivers.
Additional neighbourhood and settlement names may appear through signs, dialogue and the final map. Rockstar may also be deliberately keeping some important story locations secret.
Is Leonida Penitentiary a Confirmed Location?
Yes. In several official screen shots of GTA 6 we see Lucia Caminos in the Leonida Penitentiary.
The Leonida Penitentiary is important for Lucia Caminos‘ background and will probably be part of GTA 6 at the beginning of the game.
There is no word from official sources regarding the prison’s location on the GTA 6 map or how much of the place you’ll be able to access.
It is confirmed as a location in the game, but it’s not going to be one of the six main locations Rockstar has featured in early GTA 6 trailers.
Are Individual Vice City Districts Confirmed?
Rockstar has shown several visually different parts of Vice City, but it has not released a complete official district list.
Fan maps frequently assign names to beaches, downtown areas, suburbs and islands based on signs or comparisons with Miami.
Some names may eventually prove accurate, but community labels should not automatically be treated as official district names.
The final city is likely to contain multiple neighbourhoods, but Rockstar has not published their complete boundaries.
Are Fan-Made GTA 6 Maps Official?
No. Fan-made Leonida maps are community reconstructions rather than official Rockstar maps.
Mapping projects study trailers and screenshots to estimate the positions of roads, buildings, shorelines and regional landmarks.
They can become increasingly detailed as new promotional material is released, but several limitations remain:
- Trailer perspective can distort distances
- Background skylines may be placed incorrectly
- Roads can continue behind unseen terrain
- Different buildings may appear visually similar
- Large unrevealed areas may exist between confirmed scenes
- Rockstar may adjust parts of the map before release
No community reconstruction should be described as the final official GTA 6 map.
How Will the Six Locations Connect?
No complete road and transport map from Rockstar Games has been released yet but already from official images enough has been revealed for Vice City fans to get an idea of what to expect.
Looking at official imagery of Vice City, we can see large urban highways, bridges and so on. The Leonida Keys are connected by road, which in places hugs the coast. Port Gellhorn and Mount Kalaga both feature railway lines that can be seen snaking across the landscape in official shots.
In Ambrosia the roads into the industrial area of the oil refinery are probably meant for Grassriver dwellers to get to towns where they can board ships. I think Grassrivers would get pretty tired after a while walking on the main paved roads, but after that they could travel by airboat or four wheel drive vehicle.
Players may move around Leonida using:
- Cars and motorcycles
- Trucks and off-road vehicles
- Boats and personal watercraft
- Airboats
- Kayaks
- Planes and seaplanes
- Helicopters
- Potential railway services
Railway infrastructure is confirmed, but unrestricted passenger train travel has not been officially announced.
Which GTA 6 Location Is the Biggest?
There is no published information on the size of individual Leonida regions, as none have been released by Rockstar.
Vice City has the most roads, buildings and inhabitants, while Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga have the largest natural areas.
Even with all the islands and bridges of the Leonida Keys, it could be very large.
We don’t know for certain as no official scale has been published by Rockstar for the Leonida regions.
The locations would be very different and be able to be developed around different types of scale. Vice City would be very urban focused with high population, Grassrivers would have a complex of waterways, and Mount Kalaga would be vertically focused.
Which Location Will Jason and Lucia Visit First?
Rockstar has not confirmed the precise opening sequence.
Lucia’s story is connected to Leonida Penitentiary, while Jason already lives and works in the Leonida Keys.
The game could begin with one protagonist before introducing the other, or alternate between their separate lives before they become partners.
Claims that the first playable mission definitely takes place in the Keys, prison or Vice City remain unconfirmed.
How the Locations Support Jason and Lucia’s Story
Jason and Lucia become caught inside a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida after an apparently easy score goes wrong.
The six locations allow that story to move through several layers of the state:
- Vice City offers money, businesses and major criminal networks
- Leonida Keys connects Jason to smugglers and local drug runners
- Port Gellhorn may introduce Raul and professional robbery contacts
- Ambrosia contains industry, biker influence and regional transport
- Grassrivers provides hidden wetland routes
- Mount Kalaga offers remote communities and northern wilderness
The statewide structure could prevent the campaign from feeling restricted to one city and its immediate countryside.
How Different Are the Confirmed Regions?

| Location | Population Style | Useful Transportation | Known Danger |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Dense crowds and heavy traffic | Cars, motorcycles and boats | Criminal networks and law enforcement |
| Leonida Keys | Small coastal communities and tourists | Cars, boats and seaplanes | Smuggling networks and open water |
| Port Gellhorn | Regional working communities | Cars, trucks and railway transport | Street crime and robbery crews |
| Ambrosia | Industrial workers and bikers | Motorcycles, trucks and aircraft | Criminal groups and industrial areas |
| Grassrivers | Sparse wetland communities | Airboats and off-road vehicles | Wildlife and difficult terrain |
| Mount Kalaga | Hunters and isolated residents | Off-road vehicles, dirt bikes and kayaks | Predators and remote wilderness |
Could More Regions Be Announced Before Release?
Rockstar may reveal additional districts, landmarks and smaller communities before GTA 6 launches.
However, no specific unrevealed city or region should be considered confirmed until it appears through an official Rockstar announcement.
The current six destinations already cover a wide variety of environments, but there may be unnamed land between them.
Rockstar could also keep some locations secret because they contain major story moments.

Final Thoughts
Here are the confirmed locations to the GTA 6 map, highlighting the diversity of environments that the Leonida map will feature in contrast to a Vice City only game.
The Vice City area will once again be the core of the game, a variety of urban settings including beaches, tall skyscrapers, night clubs, shops and densely packed streets all seen at different times of day. The many Keys that make up Leonida, and the many connecting bridges will provide a unique and varied set of locations to play through, including the ability to use boats to travel around, and even to explore underwater locations.
Port Gellhorn – Another very vintage part of the Rockstar map. It contains a bunch of local hotels, a train track running through the area and lots of local bars and clubs to have a drink in and experience the nightlife of the local area. Ambrosia – A very rural part of the GTA 6 map filled with loads of agriculture, many industrial sites and a powerful biker club.
Grassrivers – A unconnected, kind of wetland like wilderness region of GTA 6 where the player can use airboats as well as in the game unique for a Rockstar Games title off-road vehicles to get around in while killing large amounts of wildlife throughout this area in order to progress through the story of the game.
Since there are six confirmed GTA 6 map locations by Rockstar it does not mean every single location, such as every business or every neighborhood within a confirmed location, will be featured in the game. Although there is a fan-made complete GTA 6 Leonida map on the Rockstar Games website, the site does not show the complete GTA 6 map, the in-game maps boundaries or a list of all in-game locations.
A fan-made map can be helpful in tracking down new places to find in the game. However, these unofficial maps are never 100% accurate and can often be mislead by incorrect road placement, an inaccurate scale of the region, and even an incorrect location altogether. Only when Rockstar releases the official Leonida map will we know the true boundaries of the area and the small settlements that are in between.
