GTA 6 vehicle customization is becoming one of the most interesting parts of Grand Theft Auto VI’s wider vehicle system. Rockstar Games has now officially revealed dedicated modification businesses, specialized vehicle builds, safehouse vehicles, classic-car restoration content and garage-related features.
That does not mean every customization option circulating online is confirmed.
Rockstar has not yet published a complete list covering paint categories, engine upgrades, suspension settings, tire types, transmissions, armor, window tint, vehicle audio or every other option players might remember from GTA 5 and GTA Online.
What Rockstar has confirmed is already substantial.
Current official GTA VI material includes Rideout Customs, a modification business focused on detailed interiors, rims and donk styling, while One-Eyed Willie’s specializes in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive art.
Rockstar has also revealed the Ganado Retro Build, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy & Garage and a Classic Car Collection involving abandoned and unfinished project vehicles that can be restored.
There is one important distinction: several of these named shops, vehicles and activities are part of the GTA VI Ultimate Edition Upgrade. They confirm that these customization systems exist within GTA VI, but they should not automatically be described as Standard Edition content.

Is Vehicle Customization Confirmed in GTA 6?
This can be confirmed through official GTA VI content.
The information regarding GTA VI content is provided in the Rockstar Games edition of the GTA VI Ultimate Edition screenshots and named customization businesses with heavily modified vehicles in the corresponding pages.
Rideout Customs allows for lots of visible styling to basically any vehicle to create your own personal automobile. Rideout Customs is located next to One-Eyed Willie’s which is focused on off-road modifications to vehicles as well as a variety of custom automotive artwork.
The Ganado Retro Build can also be a modified version of a existing vehicle.
Note that there is no full vehicle customization for base game vehicles in GTA VI content.
The details in the Ultimate Edition however remain to be seen.

Ultimate Edition Versus Standard Edition Customization
GTA 6 currently has Standard and Ultimate Edition offerings.
Several of the most detailed vehicle-customization features revealed so far are specifically described as Ultimate Edition benefits or destinations.

More official GTA VI content has been released, and it further details the many vehicles that can be found in Leonida.
In Vice City there are luxury cars, classic cars and highly customized, extravagant vehicles.
Ambrosia: lots of motorcycles, Mount Kalaga and surrounding wilderness: off-road vehicles.
The Leonida Keys adds boats and coastal transportation.
Places like Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s showcase the different types of vehicles that can be found in various locations around the city, instead of every shop and garage having the same selection of vehicles.
One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop
One-Eyed Willie’s is another officially named GTA 6 modification business.
Rockstar places the shop around Lake Leonida and describes it as specializing in:
- Off-road modifications
- Hand-painted automotive artistry
This immediately differentiates it from Rideout Customs.
Rideout Customs emphasizes flashy street styling, interiors and rims, while One-Eyed Willie’s appears more strongly connected to vehicles designed for rural and wilderness environments.
That distinction could make mod-shop choice meaningful rather than cosmetic.
However, Rockstar has not explicitly confirmed that the two shops have completely separate upgrade inventories.
We should therefore avoid assuming that an upgrade available at one shop is unavailable everywhere else.
Off-Road Customization Could Matter More in Leonida
There are going to be many areas within GTA Online that normal road cars will not be able to drive around in.
Mount Kalaga National Park includes wilderness roads and trails.
Grassrivers contains flooded terrain, mud and shallow waterways.

In addition to varying the experience of driving different vehicles, the vibration in the DualSense controller and the amount of resistance in the DualSense adaptive triggers could also vary between different vehicle types.
However, Sony and Rockstar have not apparently been creating separate controller-feedback profiles for each of the modifications.
There is no indication that larger rims or even an off-road conversion of the vehicle would affect the DualSense experience in GTA VI.
